Napoli lost 4-1 at FC Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Rafa Marín was sent off in the 88th minute. Jan Bednarek gave Porto the lead in the 11th minute before Scott McTominay equalised for Napoli in the 43rd. Gabri Veiga, Jakub Kiwior and a Samu Aghehowa penalty in the 90th minute completed the scoring.
The defeat has opened a rift in the Napoli dressing room. According to TuttoMercatoWeb and Corriere dello Sport, Matteo Politano said he was angry, that the club should keep quiet and apologise, and that only the Italian players were taking responsibility. McTominay said he was very angry and blamed the team for conceding too many goals despite the injuries.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hojlund told the whole club to look at itself in the mirror. Allegri, by contrast, defended the team's performance.
Napoli and Porto both have three points from four Champions League games and sit 27th and 26th in the table. Napoli host Lazio in Serie A on Sunday 8 November, while Porto travel to Vitória SC in the Primeira Liga the same day.
