Privacy Policy

FootVal (footval.com, "we") is an independent football data and player-valuation site. This policy explains what information is processed when you visit, and the choices you have. The short version: you can browse without an account, we keep almost nothing ourselves, and the only third-party processing comes from the Google services named below.
What we collect
You don't need an account to use FootVal and we never ask visitors for names, e-mail addresses or any other personal details. Our hosting and security providers keep standard technical server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) to operate and protect the service. Your preferences — language and light/dark theme — are stored only in your browser's localStorage and are never transmitted to us.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type). Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this data on our behalf under Google's terms. The statistics we see are aggregated and do not identify you personally.
Advertising
We show ads served by Google AdSense to fund the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies (and similar identifiers) enable Google and its partners to show you personalized ads; where required by law — including in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — you will first be asked for consent, and non-personalized ads are shown if you decline. You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
Cookies & local storage
FootVal itself sets no tracking cookies — the cookies on this site come from the Google services described above; our own language/theme preferences live in localStorage on your device. You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; the site keeps working (you may need to re-pick your language and theme, and ads may become less relevant).
How Google uses your data
Google processes the data collected through Analytics and AdSense as an independent service provider. How Google handles that information is described in the "partner sites" policy linked above.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade any visitor data. Beyond the Google services named above and our hosting providers, no one receives data about your visit. Player data shown on the site concerns public sports careers and is compiled from publicly available sources.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and Turkey's KVKK), you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection regarding personal data. Since we hold practically no personal data ourselves, the quickest path for cookie- or ad-related requests is the Google controls linked above — but you can always contact us and we will help.
Children
FootVal is general-audience football content and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves (for example when adding new features). The date at the top reflects the latest revision; significant changes will be visible on this page.
