Manchester United came from two goals down to beat AS Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford on Tuesday in the Champions League league stage. Matías Soulé and Donyell Malen scored for Roma in the first 17 minutes, and United went into the break 2-0 down.

Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 58th minute to start the comeback. Matheus Cunha then scored in the 83rd and 86th minutes to complete it, but he was sent off in the first minute of stoppage time.

The Sun reports that Michael Carrick sent Cunha straight down the tunnel rather than let him join the celebrations. Fernandes told The Guardian that Carrick was right to drop him last month after criticism of his form, and Mundo Deportivo reports that the captain also spoke of many lies about his relationship with the manager.

Carrick said the win was important but that the club should not get carried away, Mundo Deportivo reports. The result ended a run of nine matches without a win in all competitions. United are 17th in the Champions League table with six points from four games, and host Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday 8 November.
