AC Milan lost 2-0 at home to Ferencváros in the Europa League on Thursday 5 November, leaving them 28th in the table with three points from four games. Lenny Joseph scored in the 52nd and 66th minutes, and Ferencváros finished with ten men after Bamidele Isa Yusuf was sent off in the 77th minute.

Afterwards Ruben Amorim criticised his players' attitude and performance. According to ESPN he also questioned his own approach, and Record reports that he said he could not find anything to defend the team with.

The Sun reports that Amorim said Milan cannot fight for honours on two fronts, the same argument he made at Manchester United. The paper also recalls a recent humiliating defeat by Bournemouth. Amorim took charge at Milan in June.

Milan's next match is a Serie A trip to Genoa on Sunday 8 November, at the Luigi Ferraris.
