AC Milan beat Inter Milan 3-1 in the Derby della Madonnina to end their city rivals' unbeaten run in Serie A. Christian Pulisic opened the scoring inside five minutes, Adrien Rabiot added a second, and Diego Moreira completed the first-half rout with a direct free-kick, according to BBC Sport and ESPN. Alessandro Bastoni scored a consolation for Inter.
Moreira was the standout performer, contributing two assists before finding the net himself. L'Équipe described the 22-year-old Belgian as having carried Milan on his shoulders throughout the match. FootVal values him at €48m, above his Transfermarkt market value of €45m; the free-kick was his third goal of the Serie A season from six appearances.
The defeat ends Inter's unbeaten start to the Serie A campaign. According to Mundo Deportivo, it also allows Lazio the opportunity to break the deadlock at the top of the table if they win their Sunday fixture against Cagliari. Milan, four points behind Inter before kick-off, close the gap and move back towards the upper reaches of the standings.
