Rodri out of Atlético clash with right thigh injury

Barcelona confirm a right biceps femoris injury. Estimates of his lay-off range from three weeks to a month.

Barcelona have confirmed that Rodri has injured the biceps femoris in his right thigh and will miss the La Liga match at Atlético Madrid on Sunday, 8 November. The midfielder had complained of discomfort and was replaced at half-time in the 3-0 Champions League win over Aston Villa on Tuesday, with Marc Bernal coming on for him.

Reports differ on how long he will be out. El Mundo says he needs three to four weeks of rest, Mundo Deportivo puts the lay-off at around three weeks, and Diario Sport, cited by TuttoMercatoWeb, says a month. Barcelona gave no timeframe for his return, and their medical department will monitor his progress.

Hansi Flick already has six other absences, according to Mundo Deportivo: Koundé, Eric García, Christensen, Xavi Espart, Olmo and Roony.
