Estevao remained unused throughout Chelsea's Carabao Cup elimination by Liverpool, who won on penalties after a 1-1 draw, intensifying scrutiny over the young winger's place in Xabi Alonso's plans. Despite Cole Palmer's suspension and Joao Pedro's injury creating openings in attack, the Brazilian did not come off the bench, according to the Daily Mail.
Alonso acknowledged the situation after the match. 'I understand his situation and he could be happier for sure, he wants to play,' the Chelsea head coach said, adding that he was 'quite forced with the subs in the end' and that Estevao would have his moments.
The 19-year-old has managed only 148 minutes of competitive football under Alonso and is yet to start a Premier League match this season, with Pedro Neto ahead of him at right-wing-back. He had started both of Chelsea's earlier cup fixtures but watched Wednesday's entire defeat from the bench, reportedly warming up twice without being introduced.
The Daily Mail reports that rival clubs are now monitoring his situation, while Foot Mercato claims Estevao may already be looking to leave. The scrutiny comes ahead of a Brazilian national team call-up for friendlies against Japan and Singapore.
FootVal's valuation of Estevao stands at €80m, level with his Transfermarkt market value. He is under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2033, giving Chelsea considerable leverage over his future despite his limited game time this season.
