Romano Floriani Mussolini scored his first Serie A goal on Tuesday as Lazio ran out 6-2 winners away at Sassuolo in matchday nine of the Italian top flight.
The 23-year-old right-back, great-grandson of former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, has become a regular starter for Lazio this season. He found the net as part of a three-goal burst in just 15 minutes that put the match beyond doubt.
Speaking after the game, Floriani Mussolini praised the atmosphere created by the club's supporters and credited manager Gennaro Gattuso. 'The manager gives us serenity — there is an almost magical atmosphere,' he told Sky Italia.
FootVal values Floriani Mussolini at €5.5m, slightly above his €5m Transfermarkt market value. He is contracted with Lazio until June 2028 and had registered no goals or assists in his eight league appearances before Tuesday's match.
The result keeps Lazio among the pace-setters in Serie A as they look to build on what Der Spiegel described as a 'furious start to the season'.
