AS Roma came from behind to beat Cagliari 4-2 at the Stadio Olimpico on matchday 9 of Serie A, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.
According to Tuttosport and kicker, the match was a high-scoring affair in which Cagliari refused to make things easy for the hosts. Roma were tested but ultimately prevailed thanks to late contributions from Donyell Malen and a goal from Mora to settle the contest.
The result keeps Roma in touch with Lazio and Inter Milan, who sit at the top of the Serie A table. As kicker noted, the Giallorossi have shown a consistent ability to respond to adversity, having also come back to draw 3-3 at Napoli in a recent outing.
One notable subplot was the form of Daniel Maldini. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Cagliari forward has now scored five goals in nine Serie A appearances this season, a personal record for him in the Italian top flight. Despite his efforts, Cagliari coach Pisacane was left frustrated by his side's inability to take anything from the game.
Malen, who had started on the bench, made his mark late on. FootVal values the Dutch forward at €57m; he has scored six goals in seven appearances in all competitions this season.
