Barcelona returned to the top of La Liga with a commanding 6-1 home victory over Alavés, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal each scoring twice and Fermín López and Anthony Gordon also on the scoresheet. Mariano replied for the visitors.
The result came a week after Barcelona's 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Clásico, and according to multiple reports it was Fermín who helped ignite the performance before Raphinha and Yamal took over. Barcelona now sit on 30 points, leapfrogging Atlético de Madrid, who had gone provisionally top earlier in the weekend.
Lamine Yamal, 19, has now registered eight goals and six assists in ten Liga appearances this season, while Raphinha has scored 13 goals in nine games. FootVal values Yamal at €235m, above his Transfermarkt market value of €220m; Raphinha is valued at €57m against a market value of €70m.
Barcelona's next tests come in the Champions League at home to Aston Villa and then away to Atlético de Madrid in La Liga.
