Paris Saint-Germain defeated Olympique Lyon 2-0 in a postponed Ligue 1 matchday-8 game at the Parc des Princes, moving to the top of the French top flight.
The match was goalless and tightly contested until the 72nd minute, when Senny Mayulu broke the deadlock with a long-range strike after being set up by Mika Godts. The Belgian winger then added a goal of his own to seal the result — his first for the club since joining PSG in the summer.
Both goals carried an emotional undertone. Mayulu dedicated his opener to injured teammate Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia, telling reporters after the game: 'We are a family.' Godts echoed the sentiment, saying the team had won the match for Kvara.
PSG now lead Ligue 1 by one point from Rennes. Mayulu, 20, is valued at €42m by FootVal against a Transfermarkt market value of €40m; Godts, 21, is rated at €44m by FootVal against a €40m market value, with both players contracted at the club until June 2031.
