Jorge Maciel will coach the next two matches, while Carlos Vicens is reported to be the frontrunner to take over at Lyon.

Paulo Fonseca is set to leave Olympique Lyonnais in the middle of the season to join Sporting CP in Portugal, according to RMC Sport. L'Équipe reports that Jorge Maciel, who has served as assistant to both Pierre Sage and Fonseca, will not follow him to Sporting. Maciel will take charge of the next two matches: the Europa League tie at Real Sociedad on Thursday and the Ligue 1 game at Brest on Sunday.
Speculation about his successor has focused on Pierre Sage, the former Lyon coach who is struggling at Crystal Palace. RMC Sport reports that Sage was not contacted about the job, and that the Spaniard Carlos Vicens, recently dismissed by Braga, is the frontrunner. Foot Mercato had earlier ruled out a return for Sage, a rumour that spread quickly on social media.
RMC Sport says Fonseca's exit will come quickly, so Lyon will need a permanent successor soon. FootVal's valuation of the Lyon squad is €270m, slightly above the €264m Transfermarkt figure.
