Kylian Mbappé scored twice at Camp Nou as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 in El Clásico, closing the gap on their rivals at the top of La Liga. José Mourinho's side claimed three points in Catalunya to shake up the title race.
According to BBC Sport, the result has opened up La Liga, with Barcelona having had the chance to extend their advantage before Mbappé intervened. The Guardian notes that Mourinho marked the victory with a knee slide when his striker netted the winner late in the match.
The Brazilian outlet ge reports that Mbappé reached 100 goals for Real Madrid in the process, achieving the milestone in just over two years at the club. In the 2026-27 season he has now scored 11 goals in 10 appearances, with FootVal's valuation of the forward standing at €204m.
Barcelona had the opportunity to move nine points clear of Real Madrid and five ahead of Atlético had they won, but Mourinho's side denied them. The result leaves the title race considerably tighter heading into the next round of fixtures.
