Manager Paulo Fonseca has expressed concern that the English midfielder could be out for an extended period, leaving Lyon short-handed heading into a difficult run.

Olympique Lyon are bracing for what could be a lengthy spell without Tyler Morton after the 23-year-old English defensive midfielder suffered an injury that prompted manager Paulo Fonseca to warn of a potential prolonged absence.
Morton's situation worsens an already stretched squad. Lyon are also without attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc, who is sidelined for approximately four months with a meniscal injury, as well as striker Loïs Openda and Mohamed Ouédraogo. The four absentees leave Fonseca with limited options as Lyon look to arrest a run of three defeats in their last five league matches.
FootVal values Morton at €30 million, in line with his Transfermarkt market value. He has made seven appearances in the current Ligue 1 season, posting an average rating of 6.76. Sulc, valued at €21.6 million by FootVal, had contributed one goal and three assists before his injury.
Lyon have not confirmed a precise timeline for Morton's return, and Fonseca's cautious public comments suggest the club are preparing for an absence measured in weeks rather than days.
