Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be sidelined for between two and eight weeks after tests confirmed a muscle tear in his left hamstring, AC Milan have announced. The injury was sustained during the Serie A fixture at Udinese.
The setback deepens an already significant injury crisis at Milan. Tuttosport reports that Loftus-Cheek joins a lengthening list of absentees that includes Diawara, Bartesaghi and Hutchinson, with young midfielder Comotto now expected to feature more prominently.
Loftus-Cheek, 30, has made seven appearances for Milan so far this season, scoring no goals and registering no assists. FootVal's valuation of the England international stands at €5.1m, against a Transfermarkt market value of €8.5m. His contract at San Siro runs until June 2027.
The uncertainty over his return date — the two-to-eight-week window is unusually wide — will complicate Milan's planning for the weeks ahead.
