Fermín López has publicly dismissed reported interest from Manchester United, posting a message in Catalan on social media — "Fins a la mort per aquest escut" ("Until death for this badge") — alongside a photo of himself kissing the Barcelona crest after Saturday's 6-1 win over Alavés.
Foot Mercato and Mundo Deportivo both reported that Manchester United had been monitoring the Spanish international ahead of future transfer windows. López's post, and his performance in the win over Alavés — a goal and two assists, earning him the match MVP award — appear to be his answer to those links.
López, who turns 24 this season, is contracted to Barcelona until June 2031. FootVal values him at €118m, slightly above his €110m Transfermarkt market value. In 10 appearances this season he has scored five goals and provided five assists, with an average rating of 7.61.
Barcelona sit top of LaLiga after the Alavés rout and face Aston Villa in their next Champions League fixture.
