Turkish outlets say the Portuguese coach has been invited to Istanbul after Kartal's exit, with Jorge Jesus reported to back the move.

Fenerbahçe have reportedly reached an agreement with Sergio Conceição to become their new head coach, according to Habertürk as cited by several Turkish outlets. The 51-year-old Portuguese has been invited to Istanbul and is expected to arrive there shortly, after the club parted ways with İsmail Kartal.

Hürriyet reports that Conceição has been asked to come to Istanbul to sign, while NTV Spor says positive references played a part in the decision and that Jorge Jesus endorsed the appointment. Portuguese outlet Record, also citing Habertürk, reported that the deal had been agreed.

Conceição is currently without a club. Sabah says he has won 13 trophies in his career, with his biggest successes coming during seven years at Porto. Aykut Kocaman and Emre Belözoğlu were also mentioned as candidates in earlier reports.

FootVal's valuation of the Fenerbahçe squad is €249m, against €261m on Transfermarkt. None of the reports includes an official announcement from the club.
