Carrick told BBC Sport there were "no issues" with Fernandes, adding that the 32-year-old was "fully committed" to the club and would continue to wear the captain's armband. "He has been captain and he will be," the manager said.
Fernandes has made seven appearances for United this season, scoring three goals and contributing one assist, with an average rating of 6.34 according to FootVal data. His Transfermarkt market value stands at €35m, while FootVal's valuation puts him at €25m.
