Fernandes was dropped to the bench for Sunday's 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth after he publicly questioned Carrick's tactical approach. Tensions worsened after the game when the Portuguese captain liked a cryptic Instagram post widely read as a comment on loyalty within the squad.
Following the talks, both Carrick and Fernandes are said to have vowed to refocus on turning the club's season around. talkSPORT understands the talks took place before training, with Fernandes now expected to return to the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge.
FootVal's valuation of Fernandes stands at €25m, against a Transfermarkt market value of €35m. The 32-year-old is contracted at Old Trafford until June 2027 and has scored three goals in seven appearances in all competitions this season.
