Jamie Carragher has apologised to Aston Villa after the club announced plans to take legal action against him over what chairman Nassef Sawiris described as "unacceptable insults about the club and its fans", according to ESPN.
The dispute began after Carragher suggested that manager Unai Emery should consider leaving Villa for Manchester United. When Villa supporters pushed back, Carragher told them to "shut the fuck up" and said the club would "never be Man United", The Guardian reports.
