Bologna defeated AC Milan 4-2 at San Siro in Serie A, leaving manager Ruben Amorim to reflect on a performance he said felt compromised by fatigue from the opening minute.

Amorim told reporters that even when Milan were ahead on the scoreboard he felt no comfort about the physical state of his squad. He said the defeat had left him uncertain about how many players he would have fit for the forthcoming derby against Inter.

"I am worried because I do not know how many players I will have available," Amorim said of the Inter fixture, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Bologna, whose squad carries a Transfermarkt value of €229m against Milan's €503m, produced a commanding second-half display to turn the match in their favour at one of Serie A's most iconic venues.

The result leaves Amorim under scrutiny, with pundits divided on whether the Portuguese coach has had sufficient time to impose his ideas on the squad.
