Balde open to January exit as Barcelona left-back falls to fifth in Flick's pecking order
The 23-year-old has not started any of his three appearances this season and is increasingly resigned to leaving the club in January.

Alejandro Balde is open to leaving Barcelona in the January transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo, after slipping to fifth in Hansi Flick's defensive hierarchy. The Spanish international has made only three appearances in 2026-27 without starting any of them.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Balde had hoped to earn more playing time following recent injuries in Barcelona's defence, and he did feature in games against PSG, Real Madrid and Alavés. However, he has never been handed a starting berth, and Flick's pre-match press conference and team selection against Alavés are said to have made his position clear to him.
Record and TuttoMercatoWeb also report that Balde's departure in the winter window is looking increasingly likely. FootVal values the left-back at €39m, close to his Transfermarkt market value of €40m, and his contract at Barcelona runs until June 2028.
How serious any interest from other clubs is remains unclear; no potential destination has been named in the reports.
